MY COFFEE AWARDS
This is the festival’s third edition, and we’re still as excited as we were on day one. As we do every year, we want to take this opportunity to share something that’s central to our understanding of specialty coffee.
In our first edition, we launched the “ NOMAD ” Coffee Academy, a project born out of a strong desire to share what we know and to make learning about coffee accessible to anyone who’s curious. In the second edition, we went back to our roots. We reflected on where coffee comes from, who’s behind each harvest, and why it’s so important to maintain that connection with the product and with the people who make it possible. This year, we’re taking it a step further and putting the spotlight on you—the people who trust us—and the relationships we build, cup by cup.

A SPACE THAT CHANGES AND REORGANIZES ITSELF
At the NOMAD Coffee Academy, we believe in learning by doing, participating, experimenting, making a few mistakes, and having lots of fun. That’s why we’ve set up a modular space—different from last year’s—that will evolve over the course of the three days based on the needs of each workshop and activity. There will be more dynamic and active activities, as well as quieter, more meditative ones, because we also want to be that oasis of calm within Nau Bostik.

A SPECIAL SECTION: SILENT BARISTA
Silent Barista is a project by The NOMAD Coffee Academy, Oatly, and FESOCA (Federation of Deaf People of Catalonia) to bring specialty coffee to the deaf community and open up new training and employment opportunities in the sector. The Silent Barista baristas are deaf individuals who have been trained in our classrooms, and they’ll be behind the bar throughout the three days of the festival. During certain time slots, you can order your coffee from them in sign language, and right there we’ll teach you the basics of how to do it. We’re all learning from each other: they’re learning about coffee, and you’re learning about sign language.
