Details of the SCA Basic Barista Course at Nomad Coffee
The SCA Basic Barista Course takes place at Cal Nomad, located at Carrer Marroc 160, Barcelona. This intensive one-day course runs from 10:00 to 17:00, in Spanish, and is designed for both beginners and those with some previous coffee experience. Here is a summary of the course content:

- General knowledge: Learn about Arabica and Robusta coffee species, the importance of degassing, and how the degree of roast influences flavor.
- Space management and workflow: Optimize your work area for greater efficiency.
- Espresso grinder and machine components and safe use: Discover how to use and maintain your equipment properly.
- Espresso Process: From espresso recipes to calibration, dosing and cupping techniques.
- Espresso Sensory Analysis: Develop your ability to evaluate espresso quality.
- Milk Texturization: Learn about freshness, crema and ideal milk temperature.
- Espresso-based menu: Learn about the most common beverages and how to prepare them correctly.
- Cleanliness and safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Water quality: Understand how water quality affects the taste and performance of the machine.
- Customer service and coffee management: Improve your customer service and management of your establishment.
- The SCA exam and certification have an additional cost of 100€, which must be purchased separately.

Terms and Conditions

At The Coffee Academy we strive to offer a high quality learning experience to all our students. However, we reserve the right to reschedule the course date or refund the full course fee if the minimum attendance does not exceed 3 attendees. We are committed to your satisfaction and will do our best to accommodate your needs and ensure that you get the maximum benefit from your experience with us.

Cancellation Policy

When you purchase a course your place is automatically reserved, if you do not attend you leave out other people who would have liked to participate, here are the points of our cancellation policy:

- A 50% penalty is charged if the course is cancelled less than 15 days or 48 h before the course takes place, returning only half of the total purchase of the course.

- No money will be refunded if the student does not attend the course or notifies us in less than 48 hours.

- Once the date has been set, no changes can be made, except in case of force majeure (illness or accident).

- If for any reason of force majeure (illness, accidents ...) the student can not attend, you can be assigned a place in the next course, this change will be made only once, the money will not be refunded if the student does not attend the course.

- If you give any of our courses or workshops as a gift, this gift voucher will be valid for 12 months after the date of purchase.

- Our cancellation policy does not apply in case of illness or accident.
