HOW DO YOU REMOVE CAFFEINE FROM COFFEE?

-

There are different ways to remove caffeine, mainly using a solvent that can be chemical or natural.

The chemical solvent is the most commonly used in the commercial industry (those that have always been used) or natural solvents such as ethyl acetate known as the "sugar cane" process, which are usually more effective in diluting caffeine.

Another way to decaffeinate is with the Swiss Water process, where the green bean is immersed in water at a high pressure, high temperature and a carbon filter that will help extract the caffeine.

If you want to become an expert on the processes of decaffeination of coffee and how they affect a cup of coffee, do not hesitate to sign up for our sensory workshop.
