How does the material in your filtering method affect the extraction?

-

This is a common question we often receive, so here we explain some of their differences.

All methods, regardless of their material, can achieve a correct extraction, but depending on the material, we will have to take into consideration its temperature preservation characteristics.

The main difference lies in how they keep the temperature, being that ceramic and plastic take longer to heat up but they are the best option if you are looking to keep the temperature for a longer time since the specific heat of both is higher than that of metal and glass.

On the other hand, a glass or metal method heats up much faster but also cools down much faster due to its low specific heat. This is not necessarily negative for our extractions as there is no better or worse, you simply have to choose which one to use according to your needs.
