Do you know how coffee reaches us from its origin at Nomad?

-

Throughout the year we receive kilos and kilos of green coffee from many different origins.

Basically the coffee arrives in bags made of a material called jute, and each bag can contain 60 or 70 kilos of green beans. The beans are not stored directly in the bag, but inside the bag they come in a special plastic bag known as grainpro, which prevents the beans from being contaminated or degraded in the transportation process.

Once the green grain arrives at Nomad, we store it in our green grain warehouse, where we control the humidity of the warehouse (which should always be between 60% and 65%) and the temperature (which should be between 20 - 22 degrees C).

Once you place your order, our roasting team separates the quantity ordered in batches of 18kg to roast them in a time between 10 and 12 minutes, always depending on the type of coffee and the desired profile.

If you want to learn much more about specialty coffee, its origin, processing and roasting, we invite you to enroll in our SCA Barista Basic course, where in addition to a comprehensive introduction to coffee, we teach you how to make a perfect and consistent espresso and latteart extraction.
